Runner City: A Web Application Powered by Rubikal Designed to Empower Local Communities

Project overview

Runner City launched on the first official day of the pandemic's lockdown, which came in as a swift response to the dire outcomes the pandemic was projected to have on local communities, employment rates, and businesses altogether. Runner City's main goal was to creatively fill the gap between service providers and the local community. And this was done using a Facebook page where community members would ask for help with everyday errands and chores, with the sky being the limit. Following that, as the community expanded and demand for services grew exponentially, the next and only logical step was to create a full-fledged web-based application that brought runners and customers together under one single, safe umbrella.

On that note, the founders of Runner City approached Rubikal to work in alignment with the company's UI Team on a Web Application developed and designed to function just like a mobile application. Through collective efforts from both teams and unified goal-oriented objectives, Runner City & Rubikal created an innovative and resourceful user interface with an equally as clever user experience to create an extraordinary subscription business.

In May of 2022, both companies signed a five-figure deal that entailed Rubikal dedicating front, back, and full-stack developers for this project and designating project managers to troubleshoot and handle blockers and requests. As a result, in just the first week of launching the platform and after navigating through rigorous API technologies implemented by Rubikal, Runner City over-achieved its sign-up goals.

Consequently, with trust being established and communication being key to the success of the partnership Runner City is now working closely with Rubikal to build ios and Android mobile applications where customers can connect with Runners, peer-to-peer, to get stuff done while eliminating the dependency on other fee gouging apps.
